Still slapping graphics together in Canva and hoping for the best?

Why do that when you could hire an expert who will save you money, increase your impact, and elevate your brand in far less time than you’ve spent looking at Canva templates.

I don’t make things “pretty.”
I make them matter.

Hi. I'm Alexa.

I’m more than a bold, innovative designer — I’m a strategist who brings ten years of nonprofit experience to every project.

How many designers do you know who have professional experience in communications, fundraising, marketing, event planning, digital advertising, operations, and even audit compliance? You wouldn’t believe how helpful it is to have someone with that experience on your Slack channel.

Alexa wears a pink blazer, a white top and blue jeans. She sits in front of her desk smiling at the viewer.
Quotation Marks

Alexa is both incredibly professional and very fun to work with! She intuitively understands clients' needs and effectively guides non-designers toward a creative brand and design that they may have lacked the words to describe. Alexa checks so many of my organization's boxes — she is speedy, has expertise on accessibility requirements, collaborates well, and produces polished deliverables.

To make a lasting impact, you need to make a strong first impression — and build on that momentum.

Effective design isn't optional in 2026.
Let this be the year you level up.

My Offerings

Fractional Design Director

[frak•shuh•nl] adjective

high-level expertise at a fraction of the cost of a full-time employee (i.e. work smarter, not harder)

Do you have a brand bodyguard? You need one.

As your part-time, contract design director, I'll keep a birds eye view of all visual projects, ensuring that your mission, vision, and style are communicated consistently, accurately, and powerfully across all products. I'll manage design projects from concept to execution and distribution — protecting your brand, elevating your message, building on your mission's momentum, and ultimately increasing your impact.

Going fractional means you get an expert on your team for just a portion of the cost of a W2 employee. This is a great option if your design needs are less than 30 hours a week but you still want someone with significant professionalism, experience, and polish.

Increase your team's capacity and increase your impact — bring me on as your design director today.

Publication Design

Know the best way to keep people reading your lengthy publication?

Make every page something special. Sure, a template will be much faster than custom layouts, but people’s eyes tire and attentions wander when every page looks the same.

Whether you have a 30 page impact report or a 200 page climate action plan, I carefully craft each page within a cohesive design that clearly communicates your brand identity while breaking up complex information for your readers. Infographics, tables, call out boxes, and photography help keep eyes moving and minds interested until the last page.

Your content is important—I can help ensure your audience actually reads it

Mentorship

"We already have someone doing graphic design on our team."

Great! How are you supporting them? Who is critiquing their work? Who is ensuring quality control for branding and style? What professional guidance are they receiving?

I've seen a lot of orgs try to save money by asking younger, more tech-savvy staff to add graphic design to their roles without any design-specific guidance or support. I get it — you're moving quickly, the budget is tight, you just need to get it done and out the door. But you're risking losing that employee and you're reducing your impact and hindering your mission. Great graphic design isn't optional anymore.

This is where I can help! Proper support and customized training for junior staff improve confidence, prevent burnout, and increase retention — all of which save you money! My mentorship packages are 20 hours per month for three months or longer, depending on your staff's needs, and are customized entirely to your junior designer's interests and skills.

This isn't technical training on how to use software, but rather conceptual and strategic training which means no matter what software they're using, they'll be putting out consistently impactful, efficient designs that move your mission forward.

Print & Digital Design

Looking for ad-hoc or project-based design support? I've got you covered.

I work on all kinds of traditional design products — social media graphics and animated videos, bifolds and trifolds, presentations, palm cards and postcards, one-pagers — but I also fearlessly tackle things more outside the box! I've designed wall murals, bus ads, trailer panels, and even restaurant wraps.

I'll lead the charge on proposing the right product for your goals, developing the design, working with printers, and approving proofs. Experts say you only have 2.2 seconds to make a digital impression — let's make those seconds count. You dream it, I'll design it.

Are you ready?
